Who is GroupSea designed for?
GroupSea is built for three types of users: travel advisors who host and sell group cruises, group leaders who book directly with cruise lines, and group members participating in a hosted sailing. Each role gets tools tailored to what they actually need.
Do group members need to pay?
No. Group members always join free. The leader or advisor creates the workspace and invites members via a join code. Members get full access to the itinerary, group wall, chat, and their member profile at no charge.
What's the difference between a Trip Pass and Advisor Pro?
A Trip Pass ($199 one-time) lets you run one group at a time for up to two years — ideal for occasional group cruises. Advisor Pro ($39/month) gives you unlimited concurrent groups, a commission tracker, and access to all GroupSea niche apps — built for advisors who run groups regularly.
What are GroupSea niche apps?
GroupSea niche apps are specialized planning tools for specific cruise types — starting with Family Cruise Planner, and expanding to Singles, River, and others. Niche apps are included in Advisor Pro or available standalone with a Niche Pro subscription. Each is built as a dedicated tool so the experience is tailored, not generic.
How is GroupSea different from a spreadsheet or group chat?
Spreadsheets break when shared with 40 people, and group chats bury important information under casual conversation. GroupSea keeps every piece of group cruise information — cabin assignments, payment status, itinerary, preferences, documents — structured and accessible to the right people, with role-based permissions so members see what they need and leaders manage what matters.
Can I use GroupSea without being a travel advisor?
Yes. The Group Leader account type is designed for people who book directly with cruise lines — social group organizers, association planners, or enthusiast club leaders. You get the same coordination tools as an advisor, minus the commission-specific features.
Is there a free trial?
Group members always join free. For Trip Pass and subscription plans, you can create a free account and explore GroupSea before purchasing. Paid plans are processed through Stripe with no hidden fees.
Is my group data secure?
Yes. GroupSea is built on Supabase with row-level security, encrypted data in transit and at rest. Only members of a group can see that group's data. Travel advisor registration numbers are validated locally on your device and never stored.
